A LITTLE CONTEXT

A familiar word.An unfamiliar challenge.

Explore the Stroop effect

The Stroop test puts two familiar skills in competition: reading a word and naming its color. When they disagree, it often takes a little longer to choose the ink color. That delay is known as the Stroop effect.

This version is a short, playful way to explore selective attention. Try to stay accurate as you pick up speed. Practice mode gives you 20 answers with no timer, so you can learn the controls at your own pace.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few answers.

How do I play the Stroop test?

Press Start, then choose the color of the ink rather than the word you read. Click or tap a color, or use 1 for red, 2 for blue, 3 for green, and 4 for yellow. Press Escape to pause.

What do my results mean?

Correct answers show how many colors you identified correctly. Accuracy is the percentage you got right. Median response time uses correct answers only. Color conflict cost compares correct responses on mismatched words with matching words; it appears only when there are at least two of each.

Is there a good Stroop test score?

There is no universal benchmark for this browser game. Your device, familiarity with the controls, color vision, and distractions can affect your result. Comparing your own rounds under similar conditions is more useful than comparing with someone else.

Is this a medical or intelligence test?

No. Oryova is for casual play and personal exploration. It is not a validated cognitive assessment and cannot diagnose attention conditions or measure intelligence.

Your best score is a starting point, not a label.
